Acne
Acne is a skin disorder that occurs when oil which normally lubricates skin is overproduced by the glands in the hair follicles. During the teen years, hormonal changes overstimulate these glands. When this additional oil combines with bacteria, dead skin cells and other debris inside the follicle, acne lesions result. These usually occur on the face but can also appear on the back and chest.
